The First Morgan China Owner Tour

The First Morgan China Owner Tour

In this era when super cars are everywhere, a line of Morgan cars can be without doubt the most eye-catching fleet on the street. The first ever Morgan tour in China was held on 19-22 August. The 440km from Morgan Beijing showroom to Huitengxile Grassland witnessed the unique elegance and classic design of Morgan fleet, which also became the centre of spotlight by turning everyone’s head by the roadside. The car owners, media and crew gathered at the Morgan showroom in Beijing Worker Stadium at 9.30am 19th August. After a brief kick-off ceremony the motorcade of Morgan cars headed towards the first stop of the trip: The Commune Hotel by the world-known Great Wall. ALVARO ARBELOA SHOWS UP TO TRAINING IN MORGAN 3-WHEELER

ALVARO ARBELOA SHOWS UP TO TRAINING IN MORGAN 3-WHEELER

You can go ahead and mark Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa down as one of the most tasteful car owners in professional sports. While most of today’s stars opt for flashy Ferraris, bombastic Bentleys or luxurious Lamborghinis, Arbeloa showed up to practice on Wednesday in a brand-new Morgan 3-Wheeler! The British-made “tricycle car” can reach top speeds of up to 125 mph and starts at around $44,000, a fraction of what teammates Ronaldo, Bale or Sergio Ramos likely dished out for their sets of wheels. None, however, are half as cool as Arbeloa’s. Source from FoxSoccer

Morgan takes 4 of the 10 convertibles that hold their value best

Morgan takes 4 of the 10 convertibles that hold their value best

Sunshine motoring may be more of a dream than a reality in Britain, but new figures prove we build more of the best convertibles than anyone else, according to the independent car information experts CAP Automotive. CAP, the car valuation experts, compared the depreciation (the proportion of its purchase price that a car loses over time) of all convertibles that were registered three years ago and and which had covered 60,000 miles. It found that seven of the top 10 slowest-depreciating models were built by famous UK names, Morgan and Lotus. Only German sports car maker Porsche claimed the remaining three places. Admittedly, Porsche beat the Brits to top spot. Its 911 Speedster special edition was the slowest-depreciating convertible over the past three years and 60,000 miles. According to CAP it is worth 65.2% of its list price (albeit representing a loss of £50,198). British cars...

New 170mph Bean Machine

ACCIDENT-prone Mr Bean has treated himself to a racy New Year present – one of the world’s fastest cars. Actor Rowan Atkinson, who plays the rubber-faced clown, has bought a super-quick £110,000 Morgan Aeromax. The British-built mean machine is a far cry from Mr Bean’s tatty yellow Austin Mini. The limited-edition Aeromax races from 0-60MPH in less than five seconds – and has a top speed of 170MPH. The motor has an amazing Batmobile-style gull-wing boot, 20-inch alloy wheels – and a whopping 4.4litre V8 engine. Worcestershire-based Morgan is making only 100 of the exclusive cars and Atkinson, 52, put down a £25,000 deposit to reserve his on the back of the success of his film, Mr Bean’s Holiday. The Blackadder star already has a collection of luxury motors including Aston Martins.  But he hopes the Aeromax has better luck than his £650,000 McLaren...

The Future of Morgan

Morgan confirms development of megnesium and aluminum. In a brief chat with The Telegraph, managing director of Morgan, Charles Morgan, talked about how the tiny UK automaker will navigate the future. Morgan believes that as long as the company can find a way to exploit niche products that the big automakers can’t or won’t do, and if his firm can be a test bed for new technologies, then there’s a way to retain both the Morgan spirit and independence. One of those upcoming technologies could be a new chassis material of magnesium and aluminum. The combination would allow Morgan to form its panels in the traditional way, but make them 20 percent lighter. You can watch him lay out the company’s present and future in the video below, and no matter the material we hope it includes the EvaGT.

Morgan Aero Coupe & Plus 8 hit the China car market – Car News China

Morgan Aero Coupe & Plus 8 hit the China car market Published on June 11, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter The famous British sportscarmaker Morgan has arrived in China, it has opened a dealer in Beijing and will soon open another one in Guangzhou. Morgan will sell the Aero Coupe and the Plus 8, the 3 Wheeler might joint later. Morgan organized a launching party over the weekend and showed a very kitschy Plus 8, which Chinese car buyers no doubt will like very much. We think it is interesting, just look at the thing, red-white madness all over! It isn’t subtle at all, that is good, wealthy Chinese car buyers don’t buy subtle, they want to show of.  Price for the Plus 8 starts at 2.8 million, the Aero Coupe at 3.3 million. Power: the Aero Coupe and the Plus 8 are powered...
